Fatal Crash Involves 3 Vehicles And One Pedestrian

Florida Highway Patrol announced that a pedestrian was killed in a 3-vehicle crash in Bradenton, FL. The report indicated that there were 3 vehicles involved in the crash, a sedan, an SUV, and a bus. The driver of the sedan was seriously injured in addition to the death of the pedestrian. Others involved in the crash only suffered minor injuries. The pedestrian was a 60-year-old man.

According to FHP, the driver of the sedan caused the accident. The sedan was driving westbound on State Road 70 while approaching the intersection at US 41. The pedestrian was standing on the median when the sedan converged on the SUV which was trying to make a left-hand turn. The sedan struck the SUV and then careened into the median where it struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian was then forced into the path of the bus which struck him again.

The driver of the sedan fled the scene on foot but was later apprehended. He was driving without a valid driver’s license. He has also been charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving death and vehicular homicide. These are very serious charges. It is unlikely that the driver of the sedan had insurance. That is likely why he attempted to flee the scene of the accident.
